Review:

Saint oniisan is a light hearted slice of life manga. The manga follows the duo made up of Buddha and Jesus as they take a break from heaven and come down to Earth on a vacation. The manga is made up of the adventures of the duo as they try to blend in the modern society which turns out to be pretty easy and unexpectedly funny at times, like Jesus being mistaken for Johnny depp and Buddha's forehead being used like a button by kids and drunk people on the subway.

There are parts where  the journey of Jesus and Buddha from the time when they were looking for enlightenment and on their journey to find Nirvana are mentioned and how they use that experience in the modern society. Some running gags in the manga like Buddha's head shining whenever he says something virtuous or the archangels descending to Earth whenever they feel that Jesus is in danger make the manga hilarious

It is intersting to see Jesus and Buddha adapting to technology, enjoying public baths and the troubles they run into while trying to do daily chores, menial tasks or even trying to save money to pay the rent. In a society where people don't care much about religion, the duo's virtue and kind hearts makes them run into more trouble than good.

Saint Oniisan is a wholesome read. It is a great manga if you are into light hearted comedy or are taking a break from the usual intense action packed manga.
